On screen talent
We have come up with a check list of what makes an on screen talent right for Bravo.
Credibility
Of paramount importance to our viewers is credibility. So talent on Bravo needs to be believable and credible for the subject they are talking about.
Authentic attitude
Both Factual Entertainment and Factual shows have a grit to them on Bravo. We want on screen talent to show raw emotion and genuine reactions which viewers can relate to.
Intelligence
We’re marrying intelligent analysis with heartland subjects, so on screen talent need to be able to offer insight. To offer viewers smart and engaging television, talent need to voice their opinions and share their experiences.
In the heart of the action
Our on screen talent needs to be in the heart of the action - standing on the side lines won’t do. We want to show method presenting and gonzo journalism at its finest.
Humour
Light relief is crucial on Bravo when things get too serious. We need talent who can do light and shade.
Vulnerability
Key to making our leading men human is vulnerability. We don’t want our talent lecturing to our viewers or talking down to them – it’s about sharing experience. We don't edit out emotion, we make it part of the story.
Audience awareness
We’ve found that famous faces are working extremely well on the channel when paired with the right programme. This doesn’t mean every show needs to be fronted by an established star, but it does help if some of them are. We’re not looking for Z list celebrities or actors who are not well liked in the first place. We want big, ambitious names who can bring in viewers - so don't be afraid to approach Hollywood A list for the right idea.
We’re also always looking for well known names to take us into their world - Stan Collymore and Gazza have done this for football, and we’re interested in hearing who else you can bring to the channel to do this type of programme.
Men admire, women fancy
Bravo is male heartland with shared viewing, so talent that appeal to both men and women work well.
