What do we expect from our programmes?
-
EXCITEMENT - We want Challenge to feel like Saturday Night, every night. We need our commissions to embody the values of big, entertainment shows.
- APPOINTMENT TO VIEW – When viewers are channel hopping and have a lot of alternatives to choose from, our shows need to really grab their attention.
-
HUMOUR – Overall, Challenge shows are "feel good" and ridiculously compelling to watch. Takeshi’s Castle is a treat for many of our viewers and we want more loveable bankers in our schedule.
-
APPEAL - Programmes should appeal to a wide audience – we have families, students, and 30-somethings all watching the channel. We want to provide shows that entertain them all.
-
INTERACTIVITY – Challenge is an entertainment channel and viewers like to play along with the shows. We’re looking for new and inventive ways of using current and emerging technology to increase interactivity on the channel.
-
OFF AIR LIFE – We want our shows to have a life off-air. We are looking for ideas that have mobile, online and community applications.
-
SHELF LIFE – In the multi-channel world, shows can be played out several times a year and for years to come. We need shows that don’t date and that viewers want to watch again and again. We’re looking for both daily and weekly series with a minimum of ten episodes. We are not looking for one-offs.
